Interactive Sandwich Billboards

Subway's 3D Billboard Lets Onlookers Build Their Own Sub On-Screen

To demonstrate just how easy it is for people to create their favorite subs, Subway created an interactive 3D subway billboard. The billboard gave people the power to virtually create the sub of their choosing on-screen and the experience kicks off by scanning a QR code on the side of the ad.

With options like Meatball Marinara and Chicken Tikka to start with, people were able to use their own mobile devices to add or subtract items to perfectly customize the sub to their taste preferences. After doing so, the large billboard revealed the finished product with the person's name who customized the order.

As a special treat to people in proximity to the billboard, Subway ambassadors surprised people with the sandwich they just constructed.
