'Destierro,' an art installation on display the Parque de la Memoria in Argentina, is a statement about the dark political history of the South American country. The eponymous main exhibit in Destierro features a massive pile of loose earth died in an intensely bright red pigment. On that pile of earth sits a replica backhoe, which is itself died a saturated purple hue. The exhibit, which is in the biggest room in the Parque de la Memoria, is meant to represent the millions of lives that were upended by the reign of the military junta in Argentina.
