Dance-Encouraging Installations

This Dance Installation Cleverly Leads People to a Museum

Montreal's Museum of Fine Arts has a dance installation outside of its entrance that was designed by the Canadian architect Jean Verville.

The installation works to do two things -- the first is to create a fun and interactive experience in which people can dance on the street without any inhibitions and the second is to lead visitors straight into the museum behind it. The installation was painted with 5,000 gold footprints that can be used to create dance moves and that were inspired by the museum's 'Pompeii' exhibition.

The dance installation works as a clever marketing tactic, as it draws attention to the museum in a playful and unsuspecting way.
