Slashed Slanted Towers

The Amazing Design for the City by the Sea in Aarhus

Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects have really outdone themselves. They have created a plan for an urban center called ‘The City by the Sea’ in Aarhus, Denmark, that looks like a magical place to live, let alone visit.

According to Design Scene, The City by the Sea in Aarhus consists of living quarters and businesses and features ‘broken’ elements which are designed to create variation and different views throughout the area. With a dynamic design that offers movement throughout the site, the city also has as its defining structure a magnificent city tower that rises and protrudes from the harbor front. With facades that look slashed (made from cut-outs), the slanted tower acts as "leading light on entering the harbor of Aarhus."
