Japanese architect Tadao Ando has designed Casa Monterrey, a hillside family home located in Mexico's Cumbres de Monterrey National Park.
The house features breathtaking views of the Sierra Las Mitras mountains, best enjoyed from the protruding swimming pool, which cantilevers over the hills' edge towards the horizon. The hilly topography also allowed the architect to build horizontal and vertical concrete plains at different heights and positions, one of which acts as a poolside terrace. The master bedroom and living room open out to this pool terrace.
Inside, the home is divided into two wings, and features luxurious amenities such as an open-plan living area, a double-height library, a gallery, wine cellar and a spacious home gym.
