Bureau de Change Designs the Cast House in Clapham, London

Architecture studio Bureau de Change uses concrete materials to create the Cast House located in South London. It is found in Clapham along a suburban street and is defined by a 30s theme of brick housing. It is meant to be a contemporary interpretation of large homes with gable roofs and covered porches. Looking at the front, it captures a blend of brickwork and concrete that makes up the four-story home.

The studio explains that "The entrance elevation is sensitively designed so that the house sits discreetly among its heritage neighbors, playfully responding to the established rhythm of the street. The rear facade is bolder in its design, presented as a cascading sequence of tiered cubic volumes which project out into the garden and a sunken patio."
