Artist Martin Klimas Creates Explosive Art with Music and Paint

Artist Martin Klimas has literally shown us the sound of music in his latest art project.

Klimas’ alias is known as ‘3D Jackson Pollock,' because his work resembles explosive Pollock paintings made from various color blotches. Like many people who want to compare their senses to one another, Klimas’s project started as an attempt to figure out what sound could look like. To do this, he placed a transparent screen on top of a speaker, threw down globs of paint and blasted the music. He used a variation of musical tunes from Miles Davis to Karlheinz Stockhausen.

To be literal, his work is explosive; the mix of colors and patterns signify the pleasing fulfillment music has on us. The project took him about six months to complete with more than 1,000 photos of the entire series.
