Zaa Architecture, an Italian firm, recently designed this country home, but to the unknowing viewer it might look more like the home was built decades ago. That's because the aesthetic is clearly meant to evoke the mystery and allure of old country manors that have long been forgotten or abandoned by their owners.
The two most striking aspects of the home's derelict appearance come from the cladding. The entire exterior of the main building is covered in a thick tapestry of leafy ivy, making the home look overgrown while helping it to blend into the surroundings. Further, the home's sun room is built out of glass and Corten steel, a steel material that is intentionally finished with a rusty coloring to give it an aged and authentic appearance compared to standard steel.
