These towering wooden monuments by Spanish artist Manolo Garcia are made through a process he calls "artistic carpentry."
Set pieces ranging from Renaissance-era sculptures to gigantic animals are assembled inside of Garcia's workshop located in Valencia, Spain. Garcia's technique for creating his expansive set pieces involves wooden sculptures paired with frameworks covered in several strips of wood. Often the size and scope of these wooden monuments is so larger-than-life that several individual pieces are first constructed, and then later assembled together into one large piece on the site they are being displayed.
Garcia's sculptural work has been featured and lit on fire at festivals to spectacular effect, which is almost a shame given how stunning they look all on their own.
