The Virgil Was Here Show Pays Tribute to the Late Designer

Miami hosted Louis Vuitton's Virgil Was Here show in honor of the late designer. The fashion show was live-streamed worldwide and opened with Abloh's words: "I've been on this focus in terms of my art and creativity, of getting adults to behave like children again. That they go back into this sense of wonderment."

The show was initially planned as a Spring/Summer 2022 spin-off during Design Miami. Louis Vuitton decided to incorporate the 30 new looks into an honorary show following Abloh's passing. The ceremonial event featured a hot-air balloon, red lights illuminating the motif of a paper airplane, fireworks exploding into silver colors, and the words "Virgil was here" illuminated in the sky at the show's end.
