Graphic designer Victoria Siemer's collection of abstract geometric landscapes portray highly emotional depictions of forests, skies and distant mountains. The Brooklyn-based artist has done so by way of dark monochromatic images, the most colorful of which showcase dark pops of green and navy blue.
Placed directly upon each of Siemer's portraits are sharp shapes, seen in chunky squares and rectangles. Each one of these shapes features the natural settings inset, though they have been jumbled with upside down and sideways frames.
Together, these topsy turvy angular frames enable the pieces to convey depth and altered perspectives. Viewers in turn take in the scenes from unusual points of view that would otherwise be missed if it weren't for superimposed shapes.
