The magical Portugese Pavilion entitled 'Trafaria Praia' examines similarities between Lisbon and Venice and their role in shaping "European worldview during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance." The two cities share three common elements: water, navigation and ships.
The pavilion is modeled after a ship, bringing in elements from each city like skylines, architecture and commonly used materials like tiles. The interior is draped with soft fabrics and glowing blue hues that would make visitors feel like they are floating among the beautiful ruins of a sunken ship. The experience is surreal and a wonderful tribute to two influential and iconic cities.
