The ‘Rug Lounger’ is a unique lounge chair design by Fujimura Design Studio that looks like a roll of grass that has been ripped up from a lawn for you to sit on.
As well as looking like a sculptural piece from somebody’s garden, the chair is integrated into a circular rug base, which combines floor covering, chair and a table into one home decor piece. The only additions that are not grass-like are the table that pops up to the side and the metal armrests of the chair.
The interesting design from the Fujimura Design Studio was recently showcased at the Asia Awards exhibition at Tokyo Designers Week 2013. The unique lounge chair design would have definitely caused some heads to turn and people to question if it’s a piece of furniture suited for indoor or outdoor use.
