Architecture firms Palma and Hanghar collaborated to create the Types of Spaces installation. The project consists of playful sequenced rooms that lead to a monumental chimney in Logrono, Spain. Types of Spaces is made from thermal clay bricks and creates a dynamic passageway.
The project was commissioned as part of last month's Concnentrico design and architecture festival in the city. The installation, located within an unused public passageway, was temporary as one of the festival's attractions. It led visitors to the site of Fabrica de Tabacos, an old tobacco factory. Visitors walked through geometric, open-air spaces constructed out of naturally terracotta-colored bricks. The architectures on the project aimed to create an ephemeral space that resembles the chimney's design.
