Image sharing social media service Pinterest has announced the launch of TwoTwenty, a new in-house initiative designed to increase innovation within the company. The new initiative includes a dedicated experimental products team comprised of designers, engineers, and research experts who will be responsible for testing new features and ideas and tracking their performance on the site.
So far, the team has already been involved in a few notable Pinterest developments. One of them is Pinterest TV, a live shopping feature that allows creators to host live stream events where fans can interact with influencers and receive real-time product recommendations.
According to the company, the idea behind TwoTwenty came from Pinterest's desire to reinvent itself to better fit the ever-evolving media landscape, which at the moment is dominated by video-related content.
