3dor Concepts Designs the Slab Home in Kerela, India

Indian design studio 3dor Concepts creates the Slab, which is a family home located in the warm climate of Kerela. The defining feature is the wooden louver facade and the large roof made from concrete. The home rests on top of an elevated site in Taliparamba and overlooks views of its surrounding landscape.

3dor Concepts explains the design process, stating "Three things were decided in the initial visit. Utilise the stupendous views, build a properly shaded house from the heat of the sun and cover the house with layers of vegetation that will in turn bring down the temperature inside. The distinctive and long reinforced concrete roof slab is the main design component along with large brown wooden louvred doors covering the entire front facade of the house."
