The Observatory by Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios is a set of two buildings comprised of The Study and The Workshop that will travel around the United Kingdom, spending six months in four different locations. The first of the locations is the Winchester Science Center, where it is presently located. The additional three locations are Lymington Salt Marshes, South Dorset Ridgeway and the River Tamar.
The Observatory program will invite several artists to inhabit the volumic buildings, while the buildings were constructed with sustainable materials.
The project was inspired by the geometric work of American artist Sol Le Wit and the painting St. Jerome in his Study and aims to blur the line between public and private domains by engaging all viewers.
