The Tapisofa by Olivier Gregoire was designed to fit into a prevalent and mostly unused space, the corner. ‘Tapis’ means carpet or rug in French, while a sofa is synonymous with seating. When unformed the Tapisofa resembles a large rug, but once creatively placed into a corner, it takes on a sculptural shape that also acts as seating.
The Tapisofa by Olivier Gregoire was designed for an IKEA concept workshop. It shows the designers ability to create a balance between art and industry, form and content, and art and function.
