Industrial Metro Stations

Spora Architects Specifically Uses an Edgy Look in Budapest

Spora Architects has completed a section of the metro system in Budapest with a look that's far different than the rest of the city. Most of the area is known for its historic nature, but the architects here wanted to go with something more updated and modern. As such the edgy, industrial aesthetic was used.

Apparently, the stations that were updated are a couple of the deepest lines beneath the city. One motivation for updating these lines was to encourage people to use the public transport in the city that much more. With such a modern design, a trip to the subway becomes an entertaining endeavor instead of one where everyone focuses on the number of people surrounding them.

Overall this design by Spora Architects is very modern and forward thinking. Photo Credits: designboom, sporaarchitects.hu
