Swiss artist Zimoun has created a stunning new sound installation at Knockdown Center NYC that is as mesmerizing as it is simplistic.
Zimoun work with sound installation often employs the use of cardboard and cotton balls, but his latest work involves only rope and wood. In addition to the wood and rope, Zimoun used 250 prepared AC motors to create a moving installation that creates sound when the pieces of wood momentarily land on and bounce off of the floor.
This particular sound installation by Zimoun is a part of three concurrent solo exhibitions by Zimoun currently on display in New York City at the Bitforms Gallery, Knockdown Center NYC, and Simons Gallery for Geometry and Physics at the Stony Brook University.
