In response to a client's request for an additional room tailored for wine tasting, New York-based architecture and design firm Allied Works Architecture has created three interconnected structures, 'Sokol Blosser Winery Tasting Room,' located at the Dundee Hills in Dayton, Oregon. Known as a wine growing region in the Pacific Northwestern district, the structures offer picturesque views of the Yamhill Valley below.
Occupying a space of 5,700 square feet, the structure's exterior is inspired by the rows of vineyard and is reflected in the layered striped wood. The centerpiece or the focal point of the entire structure is the wine tasting room that includes an outdoor and indoor terrace, a sitting area, a bar, a hearth, a library, walled gardens and a kitchen. Keeping function in mind, the building is organized in a way that openly invites a wide range of wine tasting experiences. The interior takes on an angular structure, wrapping visitors around the warm wooden tones of the interior.
