The Skeleton Seat is a stunning design that plays with light and shadow in a way that turns it into as much of a work of art as it is a piece of furniture. As its name suggests, the Skeleton Seat boasts a bunch of intricate cutouts that gives it a skeletal aesthetic. Yet the design could also be likened to the bare branches of a tree, especially when it comes to its unique legs.
Designed by David Adjaye, an architect based in New York and London, for Knoll, the Skeleton Seat is part of his larger line dubbed the Washington Collection. Benjamin Pardo, Knoll’s EVP of Design, says, "Something that always attracted me was his use of different types of materials. And the use of light in interior spaces, either through fenestration or some other form or articulation, that would register light movement throughout the day."
