Claesson Koivisto Rune Designs the Simonsson House in Sweden

Claesson Koivisto Rune designs the new Simonsson House, which is essentially a modern red house that is located on the southern part of the Arctic Circle in Northern Sweden. Situated right by the Lule River, the home meets the maximum building height of 4.2 meters and is topped off with a red roof to match to meet the law.

It is made up of two volumes in a trapezoid shape facing opposite directions and each one has a single-pitch roof. The smaller volume of the two has a cutout on the roof over the second floor to welcome a view of the surrounding landscape. Additionally, this also has a garage and sauna. To add a touch of tonal contrast, the interiors are detailed with muted tones of grey.
