The shingle-clad Haus B19 is located in the southern part of the city of Stuttgart, Germany. Designed by local German architecture and design studio (se)arch, the three-storey high gallery and home carefully conceals its collection of esteemed paintings behind an Alaskan cedar shingle clad exterior wall that fades from a warm yellow tone into a gray tone.
Originally designed as a residence for a family of five, the clients requested that an additional gallery be added. The north side of the building is separate from the living spaces and is only used for the gallery. The living area is situated inside a cement core where the kitchen, dining room and living rooms are found.
The interiors of the building consist of exposed concrete walls set against dark pink tones with warm brown wooden complements that can be seen on shelves and doors.
