Architectural workshop Sergey Makhno recently completed its office and showroom in Kiev, Ukraine. The architect wanted the space to be warm, comfortable and accessible, almost resembling the atmosphere and layout of a loft. The idea was to inspire both the team and the clientele.
The space has been fashioned from stone, concrete, copper, glass and several types of wood. In specific, the concrete has been layered onto the floor with a technique that was used in hospitals as early as 1930s, creating an ecologically pure, waterproof surface that's resistant to bacteria and cracking.
The materials are complemented by Ukrainian art, specially commissioned for the workshop, from unique statues to the beautiful, one-of-a-kind collection of zoomorphic ceramics.
