This Safe Driving Campaign Shows What Happens When You Selfie & Drive

To show just how dangerous it is to post a #carselfie, the Turkish Traffic Safety Association staged a safe driving campaign on Instagram.

The social campaign involved collecting the photos of anyone who had taken a picture of themselves in a car and these photos were then manipulated to include an unwelcome passenger in the back seat—a grim reaper, ready to take the lives of anyone who gives in to the temptation of distracted driving. The images were uploaded to a dedicated account on Instagram and tagged so that the original poster would hopefully be able to take a hint. As a result, photobombing the images resulted in a lot of comments and reactions, and this stunt will hopefully be the only time a grim reaper ever needs to hang out in the backseat of a driver's car again.
