This vibrant rainbow pavilion designed by Zorrozua & Associates is essentially a massive curtain that shields the underlying three-storey building. The rope-like curtains are made from anodized aluminium created by KriskaDECOR.
The rainbow pavilion completely embodies the essence of Ecuador’s culture and life. Inspiration for the vividly colorful display comes form the Otavalo region, which produces traditional handcrafted textiles.
The pavilion is coated in the rope curtains on each of its four sides to create a cohesive square shape surrounding the building. Each curtain is an average of nine meters tall and the width of each side ranges between 15 and 25 meters. The curtains are all intricately hung using aluminum chains. The eccentric fixture presents an intoxicating view and an even more dazzling display at nightfall when it appears to glow.
