Contaminar Designs the Dynamic Quinta do Rei in Leiria

The new Quinta do Rei building is an angular structure that was designed by Portuguese studio Contaminar. It is a four-story building that is warped with layers of glass and concrete for a dynamic visual throughout the exterior. It has all been stacked on one another to create the residence which rests at the highest point of the city of Leiria. Originally, it was meant to function like a watchtower with long windows that overlook the landscape.

Co-founder of the studio Ruben Vaz speaks about the project to Dezeen, stating "The principle of this project was to create a glass house with a 360-degree view, which functions as a lighthouse or a watchtower, because the plot is located at the highest point of the city of Leiria and thus allows us to enjoy the views over the landscape."
