THE SHOPHOUSE Shoecases POMODORO by Joy BC and Chris Rhodes

THE SHOPHOUSE in Hong Kong shares its space to Joy BC and Chris Rhodes to showcase the duo's new joint exhibit named "POMODORO." Joy BC is a artist goldsmith based in London and Rhodes is a photographer. The duo explore new lens that spotlight contemporary issues.

Through every artful piece, it tells a story that invites viewers to reflect on the meaning that lies behind the still life. Rhodes follows a similar route as the photographer explores beauty within the mundane. POMODORO will be running from August 25th until October 3rd at THE SHOPHOUSE. Chris talks about what perspectives he hopes the audience will gain, stating, "I photograph what feels natural, instinctive and real. There are certain things I am drawn to within my photography and themes and codes that you can find within my images, however, my work really stems from the subtleties of everyday moments rather than anything too epic or too grand. I don’t conceptualize my images so much, but I am drawn to light and form, and it is something I could explore for hours on end. I hope the viewers appreciate these simple moments as much as I do."
