The North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club Receives a Makeover

The North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club has received an upgrade recently by DBJ and Peter Colquhoun. The old structure didn't blend well with the surroundings, but the renovations made the building go well with the massive patch of sand at its doorstep.

The new design is also much more open than the old one, with open areas at the front looking down onto a central courtyard. More windows have also bee placed in the front, so as to avoid complete separation from those inside and outside.

Patterned tiles have been used as the main material for the outside of the building, which have a reflective quality that shines during the day. That way, the North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club is more recognizable from a further distance away. Photo Credits: designboom, northbondisurfclub
