In an effort to keep its users safe on dates, Tinder has debuted a host of new safety features, including an integration with the personal safety app Noonlight.
Starting January 28th, Tinder users who opt to use the free Noonlight safety feature will be able to input some key information ahead of their dates, such as where they're going, when they're going out, and who they're going with. Tinder then shares the users’ locations with Noonlight, which will track them in real-time. If the user feels unsafe, they can hit a panic button, which will alert a Noonlight dispatcher who will notify the police.
In addition to the panic button, Tinder is also rolling out photo verification, and a prompt that can help to detect potentially offensive messages.
