The Nimma Hotel near the Waal River in the Netherlands has formed a new identity thanks to a dynamic light installation which "brings the tradition of stained glass into the digital age, as well as the hotel’s reception desk."
The installation features a modular typeface, which covers the surface of the lobby's front desk, displaying the news in real-time. The light work displays its messages from a variety of sources and gives updates on the weather, sports and local news. The installation positioned a modular grid between a layer of LED panels, with a pane of frosted glass on top, creating a futuristic and eye-catching effect.
The Nimma Hotel has re-imagined the pragmatics of hotel living by taking an artful and re-imagined approach to providing its guests with mundane, yet necessary information.
