Sasaki Created Two New Minimalist Buildings for Monterrey Tec

Boston-based design studio Sasaki completed two new minimalist buildings for the Monterrey Tec University in Mexico. Offering breathtaking views of the surrounding city, these two buildings provide indoor and outdoor living for the students. The company aims to redesign the original education model made by the university to better serve it's students. In collaboration with the school, Sasaki created a new program the 'Tec21 Education Model' which was made to address new ways of teaching, learning and using digital tools.

One of the two buildings is a library, that serves as a place for students and staff to come together on collaborating and inspiration. Reaching 17,000 square meters, the library is crossed with sky bridges made of glass and metal frames to make transportation as accessible as possible. The second building is the 'Carreta' Pavilion that is placed in the center of the garden, that serves as a place to work as well as a first impression for visitors and future students. These two new minimalist buildings by Sasaki set to kick-start the university's goal of becoming a campus of the future.
