The National Music Center Creates a New Music District in Alberta

Allied Works Architecture was selected to design the National Music Center as part of a plan to redevelop the East Village in Calgary, AB. The center will be the first of its kind for Canada and will be a museum, an educational facility and a performance space. The proposal is a five-story building that will incorporate the historic King Edward Hotel, a legendary blues house. The National Music Center will provide 80,000 sqf of new space for the Cantos Music Foundation’s growing collection. 

Andrew Mosker, executive director of the Cantos Music Foundation believe that Allied Works, "...will give us an innovative building that fits with Calgary, Alberta, the West and is symbolic of something that is truly uniquely Canadian."
