Mixed-Material Contemporary Sofas

MUAR Diseño Introduces the HUM Collection of Modern Couches

MUAR Diseño is a design studio based in Uruguay, and its latest offering is a series of contemporary sofas entitled 'HUM.' The HUM capsule blends together three different materials to craft the modern seats. There are incorporations of rattan materials, velvet, and beech wood that formulate the comfortable sofas. The range of materials give the pieces a sense of contrast through textures and color as well.

MUAR Diseño's HUM collection is comprised of a lounge armchair, a chaise lounge chair, and a three-seat sofa. Each of the pieces are framed with beech wood, and the material follows through the weaving cane backs and sides as well. There is also a display of lightweight materials and heavier components throughout the capsule. The velvet's smooth element creates a visual contrast with the woven cane, as well as the bright orange and dark green fabrics coating the cushions.
