The Montreux Jazz Festival Light Installation Announces Program

The Montreux Jazz Festival light installation gets people jazzed for the upcoming music program this year in an excitingly artistic way. It literally puts the performers' names in lights to the tune of a beautiful piano number. Yet each strike of the black and white keys does more than simply set the tone, they actually light up each box.

Created by Cauboyz, a photographer and graphic designer duo based in Nancy, France, the Montreux Jazz Festival light installation is made up of names such as Stevie Wonder, Pharrell Williams, London Grammar and Etienne Dano. Carefully assembled, it is made up of 64 light boxes, which have been connected to a 1972 Wurlitzer 200A. Each key activates one of the 64 lights when struck. Simon Henner plays the piano.
