Mondraker Introduced its Plastic-Free and Recyclable Initiative

The Spain-based mountain bike brand, Mondraker, is playing its part in safeguarding our planet. The company recently introduced its 100% plastic-free and recyclable initiative. Part of the initiative includes a new way of packaging its mountain bikes, including a flatpack design.

Mondraker now packages its bikes in recyclable cardboard packaging. The bikes arrive in a flatpack format, which helps reduce shipping expenses. In addition, the cardboard packaging is accompanied by organic, compostable materials. It is secured with adhesive tape made from rice and sealed with potato pulp. Moreover, the inks used on the packaging are biodegradable. The packaged bike also comes with two reusable Velcro straps. Mondraker strategically designed the bike's packaging to significantly reduce waste.
