The late Virgil Abloh had worked together with the Italian furniture imprint Cassina before his passing on the new Modular Imagination series. The idea behind the capsule is to create modular furniture that is suitable for both public and domestic environments.
The new collection is made up of two building blocks in matte black coming in two sizes that can be applied together to "create, adapt, and rebuild space." The blocks appear to be rigid, but it is actually soft as the internal core is made from recycled wood and then upholstered with polyurethane. The blocks are then coated with painted elastomer and complete with anti-fingerprint rubber feet that are supported by steel threaded inserts.
