Arboreal Playground Architecture

The Mobiversum Installation Stimulates Physically and Mentally

A group of German designers have collaborated with a university professor to sculpt 'MobiVersum' -- a shapely space for children to learn and play in. The installation is set up in the Autostadt in Wolfsburg.

This arboreal installation is a playground of learning that is intended to teach children of all ages about sustainability. Visitors to the installation are also given the opportunity to access information about a range of topics from education to cookery.

A large structure crafted out of wood, MobiVersum is inspired by trees with exposed roots stretching and dangling out all over the place. This is supposed to evoke the feeling of being in a fantasy-like forest where imagination and ideas can run about in an unrestricted manner.

The sculpture is set up to be physically engaging and to interact children to move around and play in a physical manner. The wide range of slides, stairs, nets, bumps and climbable shapes are sure to appeal to not just children but also young-minded adults.
