Tree-Mounted Installations

The Mirage Pavilion Display Features Intertwined Mirrors

The Studio Nomad Mirage Pavilion was displayed at this year's Sziget music festival. There, the designer erected an eye-catching installation featuring an assortment of intertwined mirrors, each one twinkling and shining as viewers walked past the large structure.

Studio Nomad is based in Budapest. The team opted for trees as a way to hang the artistic project, allowing the mirrors to cast back the outdoors through its showcasing of branches, leaves and grass.

While there are natural motifs at play in Mirage Pavilion, it was actually inspired by camouflage styles adopted by WWIII battleships. Despite there being over 1,200 pieces of reflective plastic, the entire piece blends in with its backdrop seamlessly, enabling it to become one with the outdoors.
