The new citizenM hotel in Rotterdam, The Netherlands is the latest in the citizenM franchise popping up all over Europe. Designed by Concrete Architectural Associates, this fifth minimalist boutique hotel is equipped with 151 guest rooms and a design you're not likely to forget any time soon.
With an explosion of bold colors and a mixture of stark lines and vintage touches, the hotels were built in a way to spur social interaction.
"The space is divided in several areas that offer environments to work, socialize, relax or have a drink. Choose a living room with a cozy fireplace or go for a more cafe style environment. Set to work at the communal tables or enjoy a croissant overlooking the people coming from the train station," explained the designers.
The design is not in the design itself, it's in keeping it simple and minimalist to evoke social stimulation.
