To add even more interest to the NFL season opener game between the New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs, Bud Light launched a novelty light-up beer glass.
The 'Bud Light Touchdown Glass' boasts an embedded LED light at its base, which begins to glow when a certain team scores. Consumers are either able to purchase glasses for different teams or sync a glass that connects with any team via an app. In terms of how these beer glasses are able to work, the LEDs are activated by an in-stadium radio frequency. Alternatively, a Bud Light Touchdown Glass that is purchased online relies on a mobile app to light up accordingly.
So far, Bud Light has rolled out a range of glasses for six football teams and will expand to other teams with enough interest in the Bud Light Touchdown Glass.
