Light Art Performance Photography

Jan Wollert and Jorg Miedza Master Lapp

Now that light graffiti is making its way into mainstream and amateur photographers are learning to use light as a brush against the canvas of darkness, innovative pro photographers like Jan Wöllert and Jörg Miedza are already pioneering the next craze: light art performance photography, or LAPP.

Perhaps inspired by LAPP of Denmark, this German photography duo is combining conventional light graffiti techniques with choreographed movements to create sci-fi style neon images that look like glowing vortexes and superhero shields, among other things. Check out the gallery above for a sample of some of Wöllert and Miedza's most electric (and no doubt inspiring to photographers) light art performance photography.
