Max Otto Zitzelsberger Joins Students to Create Learning House

Architect Max Otto Zitzelsberger works together with some students at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern-Landau to create the Learning House. It is a teching building located in Bavaria, designed to reflect the style of a bar with its exposed timber build. There is also an open-air museum that showcases the heritage of rural life in the location. The Learning House replaces the farm that was lost in a fire.

Zitzelsberger explains,"It is novel in this museum to integrate a completely new building next to the historic ones, but we wanted to make explicit the difference between old and new, and also the artificial construction of this place. The form of the building is contradictory – between tradition and renewal, continuation and interruption, clear and unclear, contextual and acontextual."
