This Leandro Erlich Art Project Plays With Perception

This Leandro Erlich art project was commissioned by Kanazawa's 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art. The Japanese art institution teamed up with the Argentinian artist to create the permanent and perception-blurring exhibit.

Resembling a traditional swimming pool, the installation lets museum visitors walk underwater without getting wet. While the concept may seem impossible, Erlich creates an optical illusion by covering a swimming pool with a glass sheet that is textured with a thick blur coating. While the pool appears filled, it features no water in reality.

The result of this Leandro Erlich art project is dream-like and Instagram-worthy. The piece had already drawn in countless crowds and inspires visitors to take plenty of memorable photos once inside.
