Geometrically Independent Abodes

La Leonera House Uses Two Distinct Shapes

The 'La Leonera' house located in Chile is the result of some teamwork between the clients and architecture firms Del Rio and Nunez. Overall the house is very geometric, consisting of two distinct shapes.

One shape is a triangle, which is the main section of the house. This shape gives the place a more cabin-like feel, and since the abode is meant for more of a retreat this makes sense. The front is also made up of mostly glass allowing for expansive views of the area. A rectangular area is the other section of the house, which serves as the base for the entire design. Because the home is located on the side of a hill, a lot of effort was made to ensure everything was safe and stable for residences. Photo Credits: designboom, nicolasdelrio.cl
