City-Inspired Arcades

The Kowloon Walled City Arcade is Designed After the Real Place

As far as themed arcades go, the Kowloon Walled City arcade is certainly the most intriguing and bizarre arcade I have ever come across.

Located in Kawasaki, Japan, the Kowloon Walled City arcade is named and modeled after the no longer existing Kowloon Walled City in Hong Kong. The city was famous for being incredibly overpopulated, crime ridden and largely ungoverned. The Kowloon Walled City arcade hopes to give visitors the experience of being in a rundown city while they play video games. Kowloon Walled City has been practically revived due to the incredible attention to detail, from shop signs to fake people sleeping in their apartments, and even bathrooms made to look exceptionally filthy.
