An all-orange interactive pavilion in the Netherlands comments on the future direction of the human workforce with reference to the automation of the industries. Dubbed 'Work, Body, Leisure,' the installation is part of the Venice Biennale exhibition. The work is curated by Marina Otero Verzier, the director of research at Het Nieuwe Instituut.
At first glance, the interactive pavilion is just a brightly colored locker room. However, as guests interact with the artwork, its hidden messages are revealed. By opening the doors of each cabinet, a work is discovered that offers a commentary on the state of physical labor and one which alludes to the potential role of humans in a world, where robots make up the majority of the workforce. The art that is discovered within the interactive pavilion can range "from simple photographs to installations that fill entire rooms."
