Danish design firm Holscher Nordberg Architecture created a steel path that functions as an interactive area that leads children to different locations around them. It was made to bridge a connection between a public school, an indoor swimming pool and a nearby apartment complex -- working to bring everyone together.
The pathway in made from a copper-toned steel that features a lightweight and low-cost design that's also durable. With this, the spaces are able to function as one interactive area and encourage the flow of conversation between people who were previously separated. The steel path twists its way up past concrete walls, breaking past pre-defined boundaries on the land and allowing children to slide down. Other parts allow them to walk through trees and lookout past the schoolyard -- giving the path a multitude of uses.
