Dartmouth's Hopkins Center for the Arts is undergoing an expansion by the architecture firm Snohetta. The firms released plans for an expansion at the New Hampshire location, which will include a plaza, a new building, and renovations to the existing structure to include more performance spaces.
The complex will include a new lobby called the Forum. It will sit between the new facilities and the old structure to bridge the gap between the past and the future. Striated wooden walls and a long, curved staircase will be included in the new lobby area.
In addition, the institution will now have a 150-seat structure dubbed the Recital Hall. The significant addition aims to create a welcoming space for artistry.
